Het Tekenlab (Drawinglab) organizes varying workshops and a series of short lessons with drawing as the foundation. Some courses are offered several times a year and others are one off courses. The drawing lessons may have a theme as starting point (travel and lines) in a specific location (city parks) or a determined way of drawing (walking and drawing). Drawing from observation forms the basis of all the lessons but is not necessarily the final goal.
Drawing can be done at any time and everywhere. This is why we do not have a permanent drawing studio. All lessons are given at different locations in Amsterdam… inside and out, familiar or unfamiliar. In this way you not only learn new drawing practices but you also become reacquainted with the city.
Courses given by the Tekenlab are given in Dutch. This is a great opportunity to practice speaking Dutch in a relaxed and creative environment. Weather you have a basic knowledge of Dutch or no knowledge at all Het Tekenlab is perfect for exploring your creativity, discovering the city and learning some new words! Of course if needed English explanations are possible.
